How to Get Smell Out of the Kitchen Sink

You may be ready to have a professional clean your sink. If you get some help it can save you some time and frustration. It is a lot easier than you may think to eliminate the smell from your sink. Here are a few tips to get the smell out of the kitchen sink that you can use on your own.

The first thing you need to do is get a large roll of paper towels in the bathroom and wipe down the entire area. Not only will this remove any soap scum or other debris but it also helps clean the surface that was exposed. When doing this you should get the area thoroughly dry. One other option is to have a sponge bath. Make sure you turn the faucet off before you go in so the water does not go into the sink when you soak it. This will eliminate smells from the sink that come from cleaning agents. Once you get the area completely dry it is time to use an air stone and the baking soda to help get rid of the buildup.

Once you remove the odor, the next step is to seal it up. One option is to use a spray sealant that you can apply to the surface and then allow to set for a couple of hours. You can also use an alcohol-based sealant to help with sealing the dirt and grime. Both sealants work well but a lot of people prefer the idea of using a spray sealant. Keep in mind that just like any kind of sealing product the longer you leave it to dry the better it will last.
